DESIGNER

Aneesha Constant has been designing and creating for years. It was no surprise that she became a teacher of Art & Design. Aneesha has her Master’s Degree in Art Education from the University of Bath in the UK. She has taught Art & Design in her home country of South Africa (2 years), and at international schools in Lesotho (2 years), Italy (2 years) and Thailand (10 years).

In 1998, Aneesha’s interest in jewellery design was sparked off while preparing for her wedding. She has always loved pearls and looked for a choker to compliment her wedding gown (which she designed as well). Aneesha found a classical string of pearls easily, but she could not find a design of a choker that was timeless, elegant, sophisticated and unusual. Aneesha wanted a necklace that she could pass on in her family as an heirloom. Finally, she designed the necklace and had it custom made. It was at this time that she realized that there was a market for pearl jewellery that was all of the above as well as edgy.

When Aneesha moved to Hong Kong in 2000, she learned how to string a single strand of pearls. She discovered that there are different kinds of pearls (freshwater/ South Sea), numerous shapes available and a variety of colours to choose from. Aneesha began creating all the designs she had dreamed of and was soon hooked on pearls. She began getting orders from friends and strangers alike, and her business was born.

Aneesha’s success lies in her passion for design, combined with her attitude and her determination to get the best and most original results. She pays careful attention to detail and considers each of her creations a unique work of art. Aneesha’s jewellery has appeared in several magazines in the UK, Thailand, South Africa, USA and Korea. She has participated in Trade Shows in the UK and Thailand. Aneesha is currently based in Bangkok, Thailand with her French husband and their two children.
